A TrackTik Alternative for Sites That Run Their Own Patrols

TrackTik is a security workforce suite priced by quote. PatrolBadges is just the guard tour, with no app for officers and a published price. Here's which one fits.

The verdict

TrackTik is a security workforce management suite for guard companies: tours and reporting, with billing, payroll, BI and visitor management as add-ons, priced by quote. PatrolBadges does one job, proving patrols happened, with QR codes officers scan in the browser, missed-round alerts and a daily client report, at a published price: free for 5 checkpoints, then $9 a month for 10 and $1 for each one after. Choose TrackTik to run a guard company. Choose PatrolBadges to prove a building's rounds without a rollout.

Which one should you choose?

Choose PatrolBadges if…

  • You need proof your building, community or campus is being patrolled, not a system to run a guard company
  • Your officers are temps, volunteers or a rotating crew who won't install an app
  • You want to see the price today, and start free
  • A daily report emailed to a client or board is all the portal you need

Choose TrackTik if…

  • You run a guard company and want scheduling, payroll, billing and tours in one system
  • You have many client sites and want pricing by site across all of them
  • You need BI dashboards or visitor management alongside patrols
  • You're ready for a sales process and a rollout

What TrackTik costs, and what PatrolBadges costs

TrackTik doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page says it's "priced by sites, not seats", that your quote scales with the sites you protect, and that you can start with tours and reporting and add billing, payroll, BI or visitor management later. To get a number, you request a quote.

PatrolBadges publishes its prices: free for up to 5 checkpoints, then $9 a month for up to 10 and $1 a month for each checkpoint after that, with unlimited officers. A building with 20 checkpoints is $19 a month; 50 is $49. See pricing for the full table.

On Silvertrac?

Silvertrac's own pricing page now redirects to TrackTik's pricing on Trackforce's site (checked October 20, 2026). If you're on Silvertrac and weighing your options for a building or a small team, the comparison above applies the same way.

What PatrolBadges doesn't do

It isn't a workforce suite. There's no guard scheduling, no timesheets or payroll, no client invoicing and no live map of officers between checkpoints; location is stamped on each scan instead. If you need those, a suite like TrackTik is the right tool, and our roundup lists others.

Moving a patrol from TrackTik

  1. 01

    List your checkpoints

Copy the checkpoints from TrackTik, in walking order, and pick when each route is walked. You can try it with the real list before signing up.

  2. 02

    Turn on the alerts

Choose who's emailed when a round ends with a checkpoint missed, or hasn't started a set number of minutes in.

  3. 03

    Post the stickers

Print a QR sticker for each checkpoint on any printer, or write its link to an NFC tag. Put each one beside the old tag, so you can run both for a week while you compare.

  4. 04

    Send the first officer out

They scan with their phone's camera and type their name once. The round fills in on your dashboard as they walk.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a cheaper alternative to TrackTik?

If you need a guard tour rather than a whole workforce suite, yes. PatrolBadges is free for 5 checkpoints and $9 a month for 10, then $1 per checkpoint, with unlimited officers. TrackTik doesn't publish prices; it quotes by site. If you need scheduling, payroll and billing too, compare suites instead.

How much does TrackTik cost?

TrackTik doesn't publish its prices. Its pricing page says it's priced by sites rather than seats and asks you to request a quote. Figures on third-party sites vary, so ask Trackforce directly.

Does PatrolBadges do scheduling or payroll like TrackTik?

No. It proves patrols happened: checkpoints, schedules, missed-round alerts, incidents and reports. Keep scheduling and payroll in the tool you use for them, or choose a suite if you want everything in one place.

Can officers use PatrolBadges without installing anything?

Yes. They point their phone's camera at a checkpoint's QR code, which opens it in the browser. The first scan of a shift asks their name or PIN, and every scan after that logs on arrival.

Can I run PatrolBadges alongside TrackTik?

Yes. Its stickers sit beside any other system's tags, so you could prove the rounds your own staff walk while a guard company keeps its own system for theirs.
