Every door checked, every service.
Your safety team sweeps the building before the doors open, checks the exits during the service and locks up after. Put a QR code at each door and area. Volunteers scan with their own phone, a skipped check emails the team lead, and anyone who needs help has an SOS button.
Church safety teams
Volunteers you can count on, and proof they checked.
Most church safety teams are volunteers on a rota, and nobody wants them installing apps or learning a system. A scan is as easy as taking a photo, and it shows the doors were checked when they were supposed to be.
PatrolBadges isn't a children's check-in system. Keep yours for drop-off and pickup; this is for the building.
- Doors and exits checked
- A sweep before the doors open, checks during the service and a lock-up walk after, each on its own schedule.
- The children's wing watched
- Checkpoints at each classroom hall and the nursery door, checked through the service.
- Someone hears when it's skipped
- An email to the team lead when a round ends with a door unchecked.
- Help when it's needed
- One-tap SOS emails an urgent alert with the volunteer's location to your team list.
- A record for leadership
- Every check and incident by day, to print or share with the pastor and elders by link.
How it works
Set up in minutes, from your phone.
No readers, no wands and no app to roll out. If your people can take a photo, they can scan a checkpoint.
- 01
List the doors and areas
Entrances, exits, the children's wing, nursery, sanctuary and parking lot. Make one route for the Sunday sweep and one for lock-up.
- 02
Post the codes
A small sticker inside each door frame, where your team passes and visitors don't look.
- 03
Volunteers scan
With their own phone, PIN typed once a service. No app, so a new volunteer can serve this Sunday.
An example route
What a sunday service route looks like.
Wednesday nights and events? Add a route for those days. Lock-up after? A second route that ends once the building's empty.

Sunday service
Sun · 8 AM – 1 PM · every hour
Missed checkpoints are emailed as each round ends, by name.
A round not started is emailed 15 minutes in, while there's time to act.
A Problem on any checklist needs a note, and is emailed to you as an incident.
What you get
Everything the record needs. Nothing to learn.
Door and exit checks
OK/Problem checks at every door. A Problem needs a note and opens an incident.
SOS for volunteers
One tap and a confirm emails an urgent alert with the volunteer's location to your team list.
Skipped-check alerts
The team lead hears when a sweep ends with a door unchecked.
Volunteer PINs
Each volunteer gets a PIN, so every check is signed and only your team can log one.
Incidents with photos
A medical call, a disruptive visitor or a door found open, reported from where it happened.
A log for leadership
Each day's checks and incidents on one page. Print it, or share it by link.
Plus everything else in PatrolBadges: NFC tags, PINs, incident reports, offline scanning, CSV export and four sticker layouts. See all features

FAQ
Questions, answered.
The quickest answer is to try it: add your checkpoints and scan one from your phone in about two minutes. No card. Or ask us.
Is there a free app for church security teams?
PatrolBadges is free for up to 5 checkpoints, with every feature and unlimited volunteers, which covers the main entrances of many church buildings. Bigger campuses go Pro: $9 a month for 10 checkpoints, plus $1 for each one after that.
Do our volunteers need to download an app?
No. Volunteers point their phone's camera at the code, which opens the checkpoint in the browser. The first scan of a shift asks their name, or their PIN if you use PINs, and every scan after that logs on arrival. A new volunteer can serve on their first Sunday.
Does the SOS button replace radios or calling 911?
No. It emails an urgent alert with the volunteer's location to your alert list, which is a useful backup and a record, but email isn't instant. Keep your radios, and call 911 in an emergency.
Is this a children's check-in system?
No. It records that the building was checked: who checked which door, when, and what they found. Keep your children's check-in system for drop-off and pickup.
Where should the codes go?
Where your team already walks: inside door frames, beside the nursery door, at the parking lot entrance. Inside a frame keeps a code out of visitors' way, and an NFC tag can go behind a sign entirely.
Can we use it for weekday events and lock-up?
Yes. Each route has its own schedule, so the Sunday sweep, Wednesday night and the lock-up walk each get one. A lock-up route that ends with a door unchecked emails the team lead that night.
Put Sunday's door checks on the record.
Add your checkpoints and scan them from your phone, right off your screen. No card, and sign up only when you're ready to keep it.
